MODERN ERA is the new, 2021 incarnation of Bellbird Vintage which was established in Bern, Switzerland in 2011 by husband and wife team; Richard & Anita Preece, both with a background in Design.
We decided on a change of name to better reflect how we’ve evolved and refined our collection over the past nine or more years and with an eye to the future.
We’ve moved into our new showroom with approximately 200m² of floor space, filled with an inspired array of original vintage design classics from the 20th Century, presented in prime condition alongside new contemporary designs and unique artwork.
All our items are hand picked and are of the highest quality. We’re happy to source individual pieces on request whenever we can. Just let us know if there’s a particular item you’re looking for and we’ll do our best to source it for you.
Our philosophy combines both our love of 20th century design and craftsmanship with an equal emphasis on reusing and recycling in order minimise our carbon footprints.
We thrive on seeing each item which leaves the shop head off for a new lease of life and seeing our customers leave the shop with a smile is what makes us keep doing what we do.
